LFSA teams have won the Illinois State Cup and our club has graduated 6 players to National Olympic Team pools, 9 to Regional Olympic teams, and numerous have been named Illinois State Olympic Development Players. The most recent notable outstanding players are Rachel Quon who was announced the National Gatorade Player of the year for 2009(now playing for Stanford) and Nicole Lipp(Gatorade finalist now playing for Duke). Rachel and Nicole were developed at LFSA and still support their favorite club through their participation in our summer camps.
Furthermore, many of our developed players have recently committed to or play for other Division I schools including: Northwestern, Colgate, Washington U., Davidson, Notre Dame, as well as many others.
As evidenced above, Lake Forest Soccer Association develops exceptional soccer players. Will your child/children be next?
We look forward to meeting you/seeing you again at tryouts for 2010-2011.

Now in our 23nd year!
What makes LFSA the soccer club for you?
LFSA has over 300 kids with more than 90% from the Lake Forest & Lake Bluff communities and we are still growing!
From our Young Scouts League for 5-7 year olds to our travel soccer program for 6-17 years of age which competes in every level, LFSA has something for everyone.
With teams at every skill level(Champions division and on down), LFSA will provide your children with the best soccer experience possible. At the top level, two of our players have been selected to the Girls National Olympic team, 4 selected to National Olympic Pool, 9 selected to be Regional Olympic Development Players and numerous at the State ODP level. Currently, 100% of both Girls and Boys Varsity LFHS teams played for LFSA. We have also developed players for surrounding high school Varsity teams.
All of our professionally licensed coaches are “Positive Alliance Coaches” and they bring that mentality to the field. Our own Director of Coaching, Oktay Akgun, was named the Illinois Girls Coach of the year in 2006 by the IYSA (statewide!).
Regardless of skill level, our philosophy is that every child be guaranteed at least 25% playing time. Because we properly place children on skill level appropriate teams (usually multiple teams per age group), children often play much more.
LFSA will foster your child’s love of the game!

August Pre-season (3 weeks) beginning 8/2:The 2010-2011 Season begins with a clinic that develops the players’ skills, as well as gives team players the opportunity to meet and have fun before the upcoming season. The clinic runs Monday through Thursday and practices last 1½ hours each. Players are encouraged to come to as many practices as possible, although LFSA recognizes that many families still travel during this time. LFSA will have a Kick-Off Night on the final day, August 19th. There will be no regular practices that day.

FAQ - What is the difference between the Blue, White and Gold Teams?
Select, Premier, and Classic are used for teams U10-U18 instead of blue/white/gold
The name designation for each team depends on the relative strength of the age group as a whole. The strength of the teams depends on the skill level of the kids that come to tryouts that year. Sometimes the teams are barely distinguishable talent-wise, other times our Blue teams are much stronger than the White teams. Occasionally we are fortunate enough to have enough players show up to make three teams (the roster limit is set by the Illinois Youth Soccer Association). Again, sometimes there is barely any distinction between the White and Gold (3rd) teams, and sometimes the White team is stronger.
The Coaches gather as a group to discuss each player. They do their best to place them on the appropriate teams and in the appropriate divisions so that they will find success. There is always room for advancement for players from one year to the next, and there is no guarantee that a player will remain on the same team.
In the case of ALL teams, the amount of playing and practice time included in the LFSA program is the same, and all are given experienced Professional Coaches that will help players develop their soccer skills.
